What hours is the Carnegie going to be open?
The Carnegie will be open Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Do I need to wear a mask or face covering?
Carnegie staff will be wearing masks and we please ask our patrons to also wear masks or face coverings for the safety of patrons & staff.
Can I donate books?
We are currently accepting book donations of no more than 20 books with a copyright date of less than five years ago.
Can I use the Children’s room?
The children's room is currently open and two children's computers are available for use on a first come first serve basis. The Atlanta Zoo has restarted its free ticket program and we just ask that you call the Carnegie before coming to make sure we still have passes left for the day.
Do I need to maintain social distancing measures?
Yes, you need to maintain the CDC social distancing guidelines which include being six feet apart from other people and maintaining proper handwashing techniques. We will have tables set up with hand sanitizer as you enter the building and we ask that you use that on the way in. We will have signs indicating the six feet mark at the front desk. We will be unable to help you up close on the computers but can talk you through it from six feet away.
Can I check out books?
Yes! You can check out all books! Please remember your library card to check out bestsellers, DVDs, YA and special collection books.
When will in-person programs start back up?
Our virtual programming will continue and full in-person programming will return soon. We have resumed our in-person Crochet class and Literary Circle will resume in-person and via Zoom in April. Exercise is Medicine will return on Monday, June 7th and Gentle Yoga will return on June 9th. Registration is required via Eventbrite for all programs due to limited in-person slots. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for other programming updates.
Can I use a computer?
Yes! You will be able to use a computer. The number of computers has been reduced due to social distancing so there will be a limit of 30 minutes on a computer if someone is waiting to get on. If you need technical help we will be able to offer this from six feet away.
Can I print, make copies, faxes & scans or get a document notarized?
Yes, all these services are available. Please give us a call to make sure our public notary is in before coming to the Carnegie for notary services.
Can I rent the meeting rooms?
Yes. You can put in a meeting room rental inquiry by clicking here. Meeting room rentals will be available during regular business hours and will be limited to groups of 35 and all social distancing and mask rules listed above apply.
Can I read a newspaper or magazine?
Yes, our magazines and newspapers are currently available to read while in the building. Please note we are not able to sanitize these items so please use the provided hand sanitizer after reading these items.
