About Storytime
The fall session of Storytime will consist of 8 weeks of in person, interactive programming that includes reading, singing, dancing, and crafting. At the end of the fall session you will be given the opportunity to sign up for the winter session. Each week’s storytime will have a theme such as the farm or friends. The books, crafts, and songs will center around that theme. For some themes I will also have supplemental materials for your child if you want him/her to do them. Those are completely optional.
Storytime Registration Guidelines
Registration for Storytime is on a first come basis. Precedence will be given to families registered the previous session. After Storytime is at full capacity, a waiting list will be utilized, also on a first come basis. Registration will be open until full. You may register by phone, email, in person, or through Eventbrite. Parents will be notified by e-mail at least one week prior to the beginning of the session. All children who registered and did not make it into the program will be put on a waiting list and contacted if a space becomes available.
Please be considerate of other children. Do not register if you cannot regularly attend these programs.
The following rules apply to Storytime registration:
A child must be at least 2 ½ and no older than 5 by the registration date. (Exceptions can be made for special circumstances at the discretion of the Storytime Programmer)
A child may be registered only once per session.
A family who has previously been in a program but did not abide by the attendance policy will only receive a space if there is not a waiting list.

Storytime Program Guidelines
Our primary goal at the Carnegie is to foster a love of books and reading in your child. We appreciate your cooperation, support and participation! Parents are strongly encouraged to participate, especially during the craft portion of the program.
The Storytime program is geared to the needs and interests of children ages 2 ½ -5.
Please be sure your child is emotionally and behaviorally ready to participate in a listening program. This includes being able to sit and listen. If the child becomes too disruptive we ask that the child be taken out of the frame until he/she can settle down and rejoin the frame.
*Promptness is greatly appreciated. Interruptions by late arrivals interfere with the concentration of the group and the provider which is necessary for a successful program.
*Parents are asked to refrain from carrying on conversations with others during Story Time. Such behavior is inconsiderate of other participants and very distracting for the librarian. Cell phones should be silenced or turned off during the program so that your child has your full attention. Parents are expected to participate and show by example how much fun singing, dancing, and being silly can be! Parents will sit with the children so they can participate more easily.
There is no food or juice allowed in the storytime area. Water is permitted.
*Attendance Policy: Normally our attendance policy is straightforward and unchanging. However, since circumstances are always changing right now, there will be a little latitude in the attendance policy. If you are unable to make the program for that day please let me know via email.
*Illness Policy: In these times it is vitally important to stay away from others when ill. if you or your child have any of these symptoms please stay home:
Runny Nose
Sore Throat
Cough
Sneezing
Fever
Body Aches
Vomiting
Diarrhea
*Denotes very important policies that should be read carefully.
